When to Rent a Dress Instead of Buying

One of the most distressing things about attending a massive party is deciding what to wear. Many women who struggle with this concept attend several high-end parties every season. Between making sure the dress is in season, coordinating with any guests, and making sure you don’t repeat dresses too often, this frequently leads to expensive designer wear being left to sit in the closet for years. Sometimes, for certain functions, it’s simply better to rent than to buy.

Office Functions

Even if you don’t work at a very high-end office, any job you keep for a long amount of time will have several office parties. If you don’t want to run the risk of repeating your outfit a few times a year, this is a great opportunity to look fabulous and save a lot of cash. It’s also a great way to look fabulous and new each time you interact with your co-workers outside of the workplace.

Weddings (As a Guest)

Unfortunately, friends tend to overlap. The concept of the mutual friend is ubiquitous. In a small town or a closely-knit group of friends, every personal occasion tends to involve many of the same people. If you wear the same dress to every friend’s wedding, you’ll be in every picture in the very same outfit. Even if you only overlap a few, this can be a huge social faux pas; some friends may believe you don’t care enough about their wedding to find a new outfit. At times like this, it can be a much better idea to rent dresses instead of buying for each wedding.

Holiday Parties

Renting your formal dresses can cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars less than purchasing, even if you only attend a few parties per season. This is especially true with holiday parties, where glitz and glam are usually the order of the season. Much as with weddings, friends tend to overlap. Unless you want everyone to see you in the same few outfits over and over--or overspend when that money could be going to gifts instead--renting is a much better option.

All Parties (While Pregnant)

In general, for most women, maternity dresses get very little wear. No matter how full your social calendar is, the shape of your body changes so much with pregnancy that it can be impossible to find clothes that fit for more than a few weeks. Unless you plan on cycling through pregnancies every few years for the conceivable future, rent all expensive clothes during this time. Your wallet will thank you, and so will your maternity-stuffed closet.

Weddings (For the Bridesmaids)

Renting a wedding dress can seem very tacky. However, rending bridesmaid dresses can be practical and cost-effective. It is difficult enough to find dresses that fit every member of a bridal party, but being able to rent instead of buying means that as long as everyone treats a dress with respect, the cost to the likely over-paid wedding will be minimal.

The Big Fat Indian Weddings

Now-a-days, Indian weddings have gone from simple to glamorous and fascinating in the last past few years. There was a time when a good quality Kancheevaram saree and some gold jewellery was enough for the wedding. Now, it's all about the Designer wear; costume jewellery; and the red carpet show-downs.

The Music:

In the earlier times, slow sound of the Dholak or the Nadaswaram used to accompany the Indian weddings. And the people in the wedding party used to be entertained by the ‘posh’ reception. In this type of reception, a local band was hired to perform the recent songs.

But, in today’s generation, nothing less than a classy DJ will do. Sometimes, there is also a "special" appearance by a celebrity. This gives a factor of “oomph” to the wedding. The music is either a mixture of Indian and English music or Indian music which has been heavily remixed.

The Attire:

Now-a-days, you will find many different types of wedding sarees. These sarees are specially designed for the wedding purpose. Whether it is the bride or the guests; slinky Georgettes with embroidery and bling can be spotted during the receptions.

The blouses worn with the sarees are no longer plain. Now-a-days, cooped backs; strings attached; mirror work and embroidery are the norms. Those gowns which are made with a lot of Indian work are becoming popular. The patterns of salwar kameez have also become 'modernized' with the halter designs and spaghetti straps etc.

Men's attire is still kurta pajamas or a good suit. However, even the men’s attire has designer labels attached. Designer Jodhpuris and Bandgalas are also seen very often during the Indian weddings.

Accessories:
Despite the fact that, gold and diamonds are very popular, but costume jewellery and the silver jewellery are in fashion. Therefore, the new trends for the baarat include the groom coming over in an attractive car such as a limousine or a Rolls Royce. The more extravagant weddings have seen the groom using a helicopter for his baarat.

Finding Clothes That Compliment Your Body Shape

When you are finding cloths to compliment your body shape, you need to pay attention to your proportions. Fashion is about finding ways to dress your body so that all of your proportions look the best they possibly can. For many people, focusing on height and weight is their main concern; however you actually need to pay more attention to your actual shape and less to what the scale is telling you. No matter if you are tall or short, curvy or thin, you can have the same shape as someone who seems to be your exact opposite. While your body is unique in some ways, you likely fit into one of the main body shape categories: wedge, apple, hourglass, rectangle and pear. Keep in mind, this is not an exact science. You may fit into one category or a combination of different shapes.

Find your body shape and then learn how to utilize the latest fashions to look fabulous. When you determine your body type be sure that you make a realistic evaluation, as this will help you best find fashions that will compliment what you have.

Wedge Body Shape

A wedge, or inverted triangle, features wide shoulders and broad chest. Typically you will also have a narrow waist and narrow hips. When you are choosing fashion styles you should dry to accentuate the lower part of your body and soften the wider shoulders that you have. Also, choose clothing that will draw people’s attention toward the narrowest parts of your body, for example your hips and waist. Some do’s and don’ts to focus on include:

• Don’t where thin straps on shirts and dresses
• Do try and wear bright or noticeable clothes on your bottom half.

Apple Body Shape

If you have an apple body shape, you will notice that your weight is mostly above your hips. However, your hips are actually narrow. In many cases, if you have an apple shape you will feel wider than some of the other body types around your ribs, shoulders and back. When you are dressing you want to find clothing that will make your torso appear longer and help you show your legs off. Some do’s for this body type include:

• Do ensure that your bra provides adequate support.
• Do try to accentuate your narrow waist with thin belts.

Hourglass Body Shape

An hourglass body shape is highlighted by a proportional set of hips and shoulders and a small waist. Typically you have curves all over your body and this is what you should try to highlight with the clothes you wear. There are many people who undergo many plastic surgery procedures to achieve this look, so consider yourself lucky. Some do’s and don’ts for an hourglass body shape include:

• Don’t wear baggy or oversized clothing to try and hide your natural curves.
• Do wear fitted items that show off your awesome shape.

Rectangle Body Shape

A person with a rectangular shaped body will have proportional features over their entire body. Additionally, they are typically on the slender and athletic side. When you are choosing fashions, try to pick clothing that shows off your curves and accentuates your best features: your arms and legs. Do’s and don’ts for rectangle shaped bodies include:

• Don’t wear styles that will overwhelm your shape.
• Do experiment with scoop necks, fitted tops and longer shirts to create curves.

Pear Body Shape

A pear body shape features a larger lower half with a narrow waist and slender shoulders. Try picking clothing that will enhance your upper half so that your lower half is minimized. Some do’s and don’ts for pear shaped bodies include:

• Do wear A-line skirts and dresses to minimize your bottom half.

It’s no joke to buy groceries, because it is such a huge expense, especially for those who do not have mortgage or car payments to speak of. While with most expenses you cannot do anything about the amounts, with grocery purchases you have total control. Sign-up to receive weekly store circulars or price announcements at home, so you can plan your grocery shopping beforehand.

4. Impulse buying It would be wise not to do your grocery shopping on an empty stomach. This way, you avoid impulse buying because you won’t get items that are not on your list and you won’t be following your body’s urge and craving than if you were hungry. Net result? No unnecessary expenses. Make it a point to eat something before shopping. Better yet, buy groceries after taking your lunch. The store aisles wouldn’t be as full, and you get to do some stress-free shopping instead.

5. Use Those Coupons Take advantage of those coupon offers. Oftentimes coupons can be found while you are actually shopping. There may be those personnel roaming around the store area handing these out. Or there may be coupons attached to the product itself, on the outside to be peeled off or inside the packaging which can be used once you are done with the item. If you are still not sure where to find couponing information, then it is best that you search for it in the internet.
