Growing up in a family of musicians, music has always been a huge part of my life. When I wasn't playing an instrument or singing, I was usually listening to music. I have a very eclectic taste in music, so one day I may want to listen to Radiohead and the next may be more in a TV on the Radio day. I have hundreds of CDs and space has gotten very limited. I started noticing that while some CDs get massive play (Basement Jaxx and Bob Dylan), one thing became very clear: There are just some CDs I've outgrown and that never get any play these days. Sadly, the likes of Tori Amos, Squirrel Nut Zippers and even The Postal Service are sitting in the corner gathering dust. I started thinking about my college days and how I would sell CDs for some extra money. Surely I could find something like that around here. I was at a loss until I stumbled across the awesome website, musicMagpie!
What is musicMagpie? It's a place where I can sell not only my CDs, but also sell video games and DVDs. I've sold a few things online before, but it just seemed like a lot of work and I ended up paying money, but this is not the case with musicMagpie. Why? There are no hidden or sellers fees, shipping is free and it's just plain easy. All I had to do was put in the barcode from my CD and was given an instant price I would be paid. Shipping labels are totally free and, once they receive my CD, I get paid! As someone with way too many CDs, this is the way to go.
I could always use a little extra money and I'm also happy to have some extra space around the house. Don't tell anyone, but now I have more room to purchase new CDs! That's okay, though, because I can always sell them later on musicMagpie. I've even started looking at some of my old DVDs like The Professional and Evil Dead. I could make even more money by selling those since I've watched them 500 times already!
Do you have CDs, DVDs or video games you no longer use? Why not sell them, make a little extra money and free up some space in your home?
